Hair Board Challenges for 2010

So, I'm a member of a couple of hair boards and since this is my first year in healthy-hair-care-ishness, I decided to join a few challenges. I'm in an APL in 2010 challenge on both sites and I'm in the 2010 LHCF Bootcamp Challenge (the one I'm more excited about).

The APL challenges are pretty self-explanatory... I'm aiming to be able to claim Arm-Pit Length by 12/31/2010... as I'm thinking about it, it's a pretty ambitious goal because I need a good 5-7 inches to get there and my hair grows pretty slowly... but that just means that I pretty much have to retain EVERY inch of growth (which means I have to keep my grubby little hands off the flat iron... I might have to have my brother hide it or something...). For this challenge, my mini-challenge w/in the big challenge (confusing? sorry...) will be to be consistent with my HSN Vitamins and look into other supplements for growth.

The Bootcamp challenge is (like I said) the one that I'm super excited to start and challenge myself with. There are 4 sessions: 01/01-03-31; 04/01-06/30; 07/01-09/30; and 10/01-12/15. The premise of the challenge is that you can't use direct heat on your hair (but a sit-under dryer is okay); you can't cut (only dust); you have to DC with EVERY shampoo wash; and you can ONLY wear protective/low manipulation styles. There is a "cheat" option where you can break the rules only ONCE... after that you have to make your own consequence (in advance) and mine is that I won't be able to get on my hair boards for 1 week if I fail to follow the rules.

So far I committed myself to the first and third sessions, but I think I might end up doing ALL THREE sessions, I'll have to see... because for the first session, I already see myself having to do my consequence because I'm gonna get a relaxer and I probably will end up having to get a maybe I'll just get a roller-set... I don't know, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there!
