Organic Root Stimulator Replenishing Pak Review

What is it? A "deep penetrating conditioner" (aka a DC). It promises to "[help] restore moisture & rebuild damaged hair."

Ingredients: Water Aqua , Soybean Oil Glycine Soja , Glycerine , Olive Oil Olea Europaea , Hydrolyzed Collagen , Quaternium-80 , DMDM Hydantoin , Amino Silk Acid , Dimethicone Copolyol , Orange Oil Citrus Aupantium Dulcis , D’Limonene , Panthenol Vitamin B5 , Dimethicone , EDTA , Chamomile Extract Anthemis Nobilis , Sage Extract Salvia Officinalis , Nettle Extract Urtica Dioica , Rosemary Extract Rosmarinus Officinalis , Aloe Vera Gel Aloe Barbedensis , Yarrow Extract Achilea Millefolium , Kiwi Extract Actinidia Chinensis , Polyquaternium-37 , Trideceth-7 , Triethanolamine , Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans , Methylchlorosothiazolinone , Methylchlorothiazolinone , Yellow No. 6 CI 15985 , Yellow No. 5 CI 19140

Initial thoughts (before use): I've always heard of this product being classified as a protein (I guess because it contains the hydrolyzed collagen) but just looking at the other ingredients, I think it might have the effect of a moisture DC as opposed to a protein treatment... just a thought. But the smell... it smells like a whole orange peel is grated up in this little packet... it kinda has a smell reminicent of pine-sol... hopefully it doesn't linger.
**It should be noted that before using the ORS Replenishing Pak, I did clarify and rinse-out condition my hair.

Application:  Because I'm heavy-handed and messy, I went ahead and "poured" (for lack of a better word) the contents of the packet out into my mixing bowl. In an effort to not tangle my hair I applied the conditioner in small sections of hair, from root to tip. Once I'd done that for my entire head, I put a plastic shower cap on. Now, the instructions say to either sit under a warm dryer for 10-15 minutes or to leave on the hair for 45-60 minutes. Since I don't have a sit-under dryer, I opted for the 45-60 minute option (actually leaving it on my hair for a full hour) though I did jump start the "conditioning" process by using my blow dryer for about five minutes on my covered head.

Thoughts/Outcome: This product gave my hair sooo much SLIP! Detangling was a breeze! After rinsing out the conditioner, I blow-dried my hair (something that I rarely do but I don't have time to let it air-dry!) and did a dry-twist out (first time doing a twist-out on dry hair... I'll post pics later!) after blow-drying my hair was sooo soft and it felt super moisturized. Like I thought, my hair didn't feel like it was a protein treatment... in fact, I could have used MORE protein and still been fine. Next time I use it, I may add some coconut milk or some yogurt for the added protein. All in all, though, I will be using this again...and again... and again lol.
