Olive Oil Eco-Styler Gel Review: Rod Set

I'm going to be doing my eco-styler gel reviews in a different way than the others because there are multiple ways to use this product! It would take forever (to read AND write) if I summed all of them up into one review, so I'll just post reviews on it as I go.

So my first attempt at using the Eco-Styler gel was for hold in a rod-set. I don't know where I got the thought from (maybe a YT video in the past, another blog, a message board... I don't know...) but it occurred to me to try so I did.

Ingredients: Water,Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, PVP, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Sodium Hydrxymethyglycinate, Polysorbate 20, Terasodium EDTA, Olive oil, Fragrance, Blue #1, Yellow #1, LOVE AND PRIDE

Initial thoughts: After my initial tests, I liked it. Usually, when I get a new hair product, I try it on my skin.... weird but I do it. Especially with things that I am leaving on my hair. If it leaves my skin sticky, then I can be fairly confident that it will do the same to my hair. Same goes for if it leaves my skin soft or if it leaves a filmy build-up. When I put a little of this Olive Oil Eco Styler on my hand, it absorbed in pretty well. It left my hand slightly (very slightly) sticky; but it dried with no build-up or filminess. Also, the smell is not offensive at all... it smells herb-y.... (I'm not the best smell describer lol).

Application: First, I applied my leave-in conditioner (Healthy Sexy Hair Pumpkin Potion Leave-In) to my entire head. I then applied a small dab of the gel on each section before I rolled it up on the perm rod. Now on one side of my head, I applied a little more leave-in to each small section under the gel and on the other half I did not. I slept on the rods and took them out the next morning.

Thoughts/Outcome: My rod set came out the same that it normally does, though the curls were a little stiffer... stiff... not hard and not crunchy. I don't think that I will use the eco-styler gel again for a rod-set because I usually like my hair to feel softer than it did however I will say that it gave the curls more hold than they usually have. Another reason that I won't be using it is because all the gel on my hair got sticky when I did my normal DC on dry hair two days later... it was a sticky mess until I washed out the DC... more on that when I do an actual review for the DC (it's the one from ULTA that I recently purchased...)
