So this past weekend, I self-relaxed for the second time ever (ok, well the 2nd time since I started my HHJ).
Let me just say, it was HORRIBLE!! All week, my scalp had been itching (I think it might have been the Cantu Shea Butter than I used... maybe it got on my scalp?
Regardless, my scalp was itchy all week before the relaxer and I had been scratching...
Stupid me, I decided to relax my hair anyway. I based my scalp thoroughly the night before and then on the day-of I lightly based and lined my hairline and ears w/ the relaxer base (review coming!!).
Ladies, as soon as the relaxer touched my scalp, it started burning!! So much so that I had to do the half-and-half method (for the first time, completely unplanned! Thank God for all the research I'd done on it!).
So lesson of the day... if my scalp has been itching all week and I've been scratching... postpone the relaxer instead of being stubborn!!!
Needless to say, my hair was more under-processed that usual... though I can't say I'm upset about it... only time will tell. Anyway, on to the length pic!
With my NG more straight than before, I can see more progress and am feeling a little more encouraged! APL, I see you!!! =)
