The Condition-Wash-Condition Method...

It's funny that I always say that my regimen is so different from when I began my HHJ, but looking back at this post, the one thing that has remained the same is my preference for the Condition-Wash-Condition method.

The Condition-Wash-Condition method (CWC) is fairly simple. First you condition (either instant or deep), then you shampoo, then you condition (instant or deep... whichever you didn't use for the initial condition) again.

Q: Why do all that conditioning? ( might ask, hehe...)

A: Well, by conditioning before shampooing, you lessen the drying effects that sulfates can have on your hair. It's similar to pre-pooing... just "pre pooing" for a longer period of time.

Q: Well, aren't you washing out the effects of your deep conditioner by using it before shampooing?

A: Not if you're using the right conditioner! The point of a deep conditioner is to condition and nourish your strands from the INSIDE. Therefore, if you're using a great deep conditioner, shampooing your hair will not eliminate the conditioning properties. (however, if you're still skeptical, you can condition with an instant conditioner first, and then use your deep conditioner.)

Just like everything in life, what works for me might not work for you... I'm sure there may be someone out there who doesn't see the sense in it (LOL how could you not!? ...jk!!) but I can say that I feel a difference in my hair if I don't use this method.

Do any of you guys use this method or does it sound like something that you would like to try? Let me know! =)

  1. I read this while actually doing a protein dc on dry hair (under a shower cap) lol. Its been in for about 2 hours (1 week post, needing the protein), definitely time to go wash and follow up with moisture

The products that I use are bought with my own money unless other wise stated and are for personal use. I am not paid to show any products on this blog! Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
