According to me: This deep conditioner was "OK." I will say it was a great base to add other natural oils and products to in order to make a "super DC" BUT: you should never HAVE to doctor a product up for it to be good... you doctor it to make it BETTER (fantastic, awesome, amazing, lol) but it should never be a case when you can't use the product alone because it does nothing for your hair without additives. Another important note is that this DC DOES have petrolatum (in addition to numerous other hard-to-pronounce, chemical ingredients)in it. I will say that I don't typically mind the "no-no" ingredients in rinse out products if they work well.
I will probably NOT re-buy this product, though I used the entire container that I had, I will likely try to find something that works better for my hair.
Overall this product, on its own, gets 2/5 stars. =/
