Product Review: Roux Porosity Control-Corrector and Conditioner

According to them: Moisturizes, detangles, lusterizes. Helps create more uniform color, perm, and relaxer results. Leaves hair natural looking, vibrant, and manageable.

Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Oleyl Betaine, Dicetyldimonim Chloride, Lecithin,
Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Lactic acid, Fragrance, Coumarin, Eugenol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Titanium Dioxide, Mica

According to me: I have been using Roux Porosity Control for over a year now and I have not one bad thing to say about it. It's a pH balancing product, with a pH of 4.5. This means that it shuts the cuticle of your hair shaft, allowing for optimal moisture retention, smoothness, and shine. {Check out the wonderful KimmayTube's video to begin learning about the importance of pH in your haircare regimen [don't forget to supplement her info with research of your own! But trust, this chick knows what she's talking about...]}. The lactic acid in particular is what works to lower the pH of this product.
Anytime I'm planning on wearing my hair straight (whether flat ironed or roller set) I always do my final rinse in the shower with Porosity Control.
I will say that the only "downside" to the PC is the ingredients. By no means are they "natural" haha. I am wondering if similar results can't be achieved with a simple ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) rinse. I will come back with the comparison if I ever try it.
Overall, I give Roux Porosity Control 5/5 stars!!! I love it!!

  1. Gosh, I always hear so much good stuff about this product...I just might have to try it out one day.

  2. Love this stuff! Use every wash before I deep condition.

  3. My product reggie is all natural for the most part but this product changed my life! I use it religiously now. And girl thanks for saying to supplement KT's info...I'll never forget somethign she said about proteins being COMPLETELY incorrect but her presentation was as if she discovered amino acids all by itself. LOL.

  4. @dani you should try it!

@jeni and Sharday thanks for commenting!

@ECP what protein incident!!? Wooooow!! I know her video on pH is what made me start paying attention to it in my reggie though.

  5. @Dani, you definitely need to try it. I relaxed my hair almost 2 months ago and ran out of roux and forgot to pick up more. I could definitely tell the difference between using it and not using it. I'm going to the beauty supply this week and pick up a couple of bottles so I don't run out again. :-D
