Got my trim!!

I am convinced that my addiction to full, thick, "perfect" ends will be the death of my HHJ!

I got a trim at the Dominican salon (along with a blow-out and flat iron). Here's a quick pic:

Length wise, I am, once again, just shy of APL (no worries, I will be APL again by June/July) and I'm starting to doubt that I will make BSL this year (especially if I keep trimming like this!!!)

But! I'm happy with my ends and the health of my hair... so no complaints!!

What you you guys think about trimming? Is it a never-ending cycle seeking for perfection that will never come (lol)? Or is it necessary to maintain a healthy mane? Thoughts?

  1. Addicted to thick ends, I'm right there with you!!! Nice ends just make hair look better, it moves better, feels better, yakno?

I used to drreeeaddd trims! I'd cringe when the stylist pulled the scissors out. Now, I'm still wary when they pull the scissors out but I love even, thick ends.

In a way, I'd say it's a cycle... we trim... our hair grows, is subjected to manipulation and need to be trimmed again in a couple months, but it's a necessary cycle, IMO. To get the most out of a great trim I've learned that I have to, have to, have to be consistent in maintaining the health of my ends as best as possible so that I retain the most length so that on my next trim, I'm not cutting all the hair I just worked to grow because of damage... OKAY, now I feel like i'm rambling!

    Tis all, haha.

  2. thanks girlie! Idk why I didn't start one sooner, I guess bc I would just post on each forum which finally got a little tedious! Plus I just wanna ramble my random thoughts! lol...

I will put the product in the mail to you tomorrow, it should be there by Wednesday more than likely!

  3. @Jeni ITA!! You can definitely tell a difference in movement and SWANG with a fresh trim vs. damaged/weathered ends! I think trimming every 4-6 months is what works best for me, any more often and it's excessive.

@ECP Thanaanks!! And yes, you control the topic and what-not on your own blog!

  4. Your ends are perfect!!
I don't get trims very often, I go by their condition. If they are splitting/breaking I trim.

  5. I trim every 6months (that means every other relaxer for me)

Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
