Personal 6 Month No-Trim Challenge

Alright, ya girl is biting the bullet. No more cutting of the hair for the rest of 2011.

Yeah, I said it!

I have to reign in my "no self control" "quest for perfect ends" complex because I really do want to get to BSL (or as close as possible!) by the end of this year!

My plan is to take my Nioxin vitamins and to [maybe] try Tola's Modified Hairdrenalin Potion (if not I will stick to my MN/Sulfur mix that I have NOT been using....). I'll also have some stints of PSing (mostly bunning but probably a sew in). Lastly, I will get back into my stretching regimen, waiting at least 16 weeks between relaxers. The biggest component of the plan, though, is to eliminate trims for these last 6 months of the year.

Wish me luck! Feel free to join in the "challenge"! OR let me know what your personal challenges will be for the second half of 2011!

♥,

  1. I feel you on this challenge, I'm entirely too scissor happy. I've also been tweaking my potion ingredients further...mwhaorrr(mad scientist laugh!)

  3. My personal challenges for the last half of this year...basically to start implementing a growth aid into my regimen and being consistent with it. I know I should be -just- hitting APL by the end of this year and I wanna make sure I get there.

Also, keeping my hair even all around. I don't want to reach APL and then have NL pieces somewhere, you know?

  4. YES! I feel you on the perfect ends, but my plan is to GET to BSL first then trim trim trim my way to an even BSL/MBL. Tola's growth has been crazy, right?! Hmmmm personal challenges for ME? From September - December wear my own hair, no wigs, weaves, braids, ponytails for more than 4 days out of each month!

  5. @Tola I see how many ppl are asking you to bottle some up and sell it to them! That could be a mean side hustle!!!

@KT I feel you about the random pieces... the only good thing about cutting a bit of my hair early in the year is that I don't have as many layers... my longest layer is APL and everything else is SL... no NL pieces anymore! #winning! So are you planning on using the hairdrenalin as your GA then?

@ECP I know you miss wearing your hair out!! Reaching the goal and then trimming is a good plan but I am too weak! I like wearing my hair out and I refuse to wear it out with scraggly, horrible ends!!Even if I don't hit BSL this year I am trimming in December...

  8. @Shika yep, I'm planning on using the hairdrenalin. ESPECIALLY now that this morning after I did my wash and dc, I found a *whispers* bald spot! YES GIRL! I SWEAR it wasn't there yesterday and I know for sure it wasn't there this past Saturday at least because I have pictures, but it's in the very front and it's about half-of-a-dime-sized. Not really noticeable, but I know MY hair. I immediately whipped out that tea tree oil/castor oil mix, know that! *insert BHM "approve" smiley here*

I think when I do my twists in the front I can't do them as close to the root as I do the rest of my twists. I'm still kinda in shock but I'm sure I can grow it back, especially if this Hairdrenaline potion works as well as everyone says it does!

  9. Kind of a bummer though, seems like if it isn't one thing, it's another. I finally got my ends all healthy and split free and now I gotta deal with this. :-/

Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
