I reached my length goal! Now I'm transitioning/BCing!

  1. I noticed most that BC or transition to natural, are those that do long stretches. Shoot, I even contemplated going natural after a 5 month stretch. My opinion is that they either fall in love with their natural hair texture or realize it's not that hard to maintain/care for. So, when they reached long lengths with their relaxed hair..they are like "Hey, I can get my hair this long being natural too" .
For me...I would go natural in a Jiffy(yes I said jiffy) if my natural hair was magically as long as my relaxed hair. But for now, I will stick to relaxing 3-4 times a year.

  2. Hm, I have noticed that, now that you point it out. Actually, that's what I was planning on doing originally but I realized it would take more time that way...so I just went ahead and cut off the 'relaxed' ends

  3. You're definitely not alone in noticing this. SOO many beautiful long-haired relaxed ladies lopping off their hair.

    *pours likka*

  4. Nope, you're definitely not alone. I had this same game plan at one point too - reach MBL, hang out at that length for a while and then slowly transition to natural. The way my scalp is acting right now, who knows when I'll get to relax because I have no relax date in my mind. I thought I would end it in 1/2 weeks but my scalp issues are flaring up again! At this point I'm just stretching until who knows when *sigh*

  5. This is SO TRUE. I was beginning to wonder if it was some sort of inevitable cycle: after Hairexia, then lavishing in length, and finally the urge to BC and go natural.
