I'm in a rut!

Hey Dolls!

Long time no see, right?

I'm still here, I'm just in a hair rut.

I am going to be changing my regimen to try to get myself out of this hair-funk!

The biggest change is going to be the amount of direct heat I use. I will be going from having my 6 heat passes for the year to 12.

Yup, that means I'm allowing myself one heat pass a month until further notice (or until I stop feeling so "blah" in regards to my hair). I just want to fall in love with my hair again because right now it's feeling like the honeymoon is O-V-E-R!

I WILL, however, have to bump up on my deep conditioning, co-washing, and daily moisturizing and sealing to counteract the potentially negative effects of the heat. And I will also be taking my Nioxin vitamins daily.

Do you guys use direct heat regularly? If so, do you notice a decline in the health of your hair with increased heat usage? What techniques do you use to minimize damage from the use of direct heat on your hair?

  1. I don't necessarily think heat is bad. I was using heat daily when my hair was shorter. However, during that time I was really on top of my DCing. I DCed 2x/week alternating moisture and protein. I think that as long as you make the necessary tweaks to your regimen, you should be fine. Good luck! :)

The products that I use are bought with my own money unless other wise stated and are for personal use. I am not paid to show any products on this blog! Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
