Shika's 3 S's for Back To School Hair

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR!! Back to school! Yay! (/sarcasm) [PS: I thought you all would enjoy the video like I did!] Here are some of my tips for my hairnistas on campus to keep up the great summer progress (haha!) that we've made when we hit the books in the coming weeks. Here are my three S's for Back to School hair!

  • Simplify: Keeping it simple is one of the surest ways to make it more likely that you will stick to your regimen from the first day of classes to midterms to finals.
  • Schedule: While keeping it simple, setting forth a weekly schedule will take the guess-work out of when to do what. (e.g. If you have a four hour break between classes, why not squeeze in a co-wash session??)
  • Try long term Styles: Some of us go to schools that are in the middle of nowhere not accessible to all the BSS's, department stores, WalMarts, Targets, etc, that we may be used to at home. Sometimes, extended protective styles (braids, kinky twists, sew-ins) are an easier alternative to having "out," short term styles.

What are some of your back to school hair tips?

    1. Thanks for the post Shila! I am going to college in about 2 weeks so this helps. :) Although I personally do not like getting my hair braided & I do not wear sew-ins, I think as long as you have a few go-to protective styles under your belt, you should be OK right? :) Anyway, thanks again for posting this!

Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
