Hair Tool Review: Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron

I was sent this hair tool for review by

Retail Price: $89.99

What they say: "Solia's advanced design features patented Dynamic Alignment System: the plate pair self-adjust to provide perfect contact between your hair and plates, eliminating any damaging 'hot spots' and 'pressure points' so that the Solia can work through the hair smoothly without pulling. Straightening your hair has never been easier and more enjoyable!"

What I say: This is definitely the smoothest, flat iron I've ever used. It did not snag may hair ONCE, (my old iron snagged my hair ALL the time!) One of the biggest positives is that it has temperature control (with degrees listed, not pre-set control numbers) which makes it easy to control the amount of heat that you use on your hair.

Temperature Controls
I honestly don't have any negatives for this iron. For the quality, I think the pricing is perfect. That said, there's nothing that I find exceptionally special about it "to write home about" as the specifications are probably quite similar to other "higher" quality irons. One thing that I will say, however, is that the iron, itself, is quite bulky, My previous iron was a bit "sleeker" and fit in my hands a lot better. However, I think the bulkiness is just something to get used to, not necessarily a "con" for everyone.

Final word: This iron is at an ideal price and consistently gives great results. I'd give this tool a 4/5 stars; for myself, personally, I would want an iron that's just a bit smaller in size, however it definitely does what it's designed to do... and well!

  1. I own this flat iron and I really love it. When I was thinking about getting a flat iron I researched both the Sedu and the Solia and eventually went with the Solia. I agree with you and the no snagging. The temperature control is a plus and I only need one pass of the Solia. It is an excellent price for a professional iron. I also love the swivel cord.

  2. I love my flat iron the Babyliss Pro. I just don't like the preheat settings.
