Summer Hair Plans/Goals

First I want to say thank you ladies for all your support and encouragement on my last post about my growth progress in the past year. I guess as ECP says, I'm trippin; cause if any of you ladies posted the same growth comparison I'd say the same to you. I guess what made it the most upsetting is that if I had retained the "average" 6" I would finally be BSL now... but since I have about 2" to go until I reach BSL, based on the past year it will take me another six months to get there.

But! Enough of that! I need a plan of attack so that I can maximize and retain all my growth from now until the end of the year.

My biggest goal for the summer, particularly for the summer, is to K.I.S.S. (keep it simple... sista?? hehe). Buns and heavy PSing (wigs? braids? weaves? I'm not quite sure exactly what). I will allow myself biweekly "out" passes where I can wear my hair out for no more than 2 days. I'm going to be taking my HSN (hair, skin, and nails) vitamins again as well as cleaning up my diet. Additionally, when heavy PSing, I may resort to growth aids. This summer will be all about healthy hair and retaining as much length as possible!

Revisiting my post from 2010 about the truths and myths of the "summer growth spurt" has really helped me to focus on ways that I can maximize my growth and retention this summer! Check it out here!

What are some of your plans to get the most (hair-wise!) out of this summer?

  1. Yes, you WERE trippin! Glad I could help you realize it, lol! I plan to kick it hard with my u-part wigs at least until August and then I'm thinking about getting a sew in for about 6 weeks.

And just think about it, even IF it happens to take you another 6 months to get to BSL...then you still will achieve it this year. Which is my personal goal.

  2. I feel like its too hot for me to wear a wig this summer, so, I'll probably do another braid/twist install in the next month or so. Otherwise, I'm keeping it simple with a tucked in pony.

@EbonyCPrincess I love how positive you are! You are so right about that; a lot can happen in 6 months.

The products that I use are bought with my own money unless other wise stated and are for personal use. I am not paid to show any products on this blog! Results are on MY hair, but that does not guarantee that products/methods/techniques will work the same for you (though I HOPE they do!!) Happy Hair Growing!!
