Product Review: KeraPro Anti-Frizz Elixir

So our hair blogging community has been abuzz recently about the KeraPro line of products. The line, and particularly the Restorative Intense Treatment, is supposed to be a cheaper alternative to the Kerastase Nutri-Therminique Masque. I will be dedicating a post to review the three items in the line that I have tried. This will be the first of three.

Retail Price: $10.99 at Sally's Beauty Supply

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Carthamus Tinctorius (safflower) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (rice) Bran Oil, Glucose, Limonene, Coumarin, Fragrance/Parfum

According to them: "KeraPRO Restorative Anti-Frizz Elixir is a lightweight styling and leave-in conditioning elixir that seals in nourishment for all-day softness and shine. Creates maximum smoothness, volume control and long-lasting frizz protection for beautiful, everyday style. Contains scientifically-advanced glucose, lipid and keratin protein actives."

What I think: I'll be honest with ya'll, I was quite underwhelmed with this serum after my initial experience with it. However, over time, I began to see the effect that the elixir was having on my hair. The serum is very light, however it doesn't have a greasy/oily feel to it. With most "light" serums, I feel like they are not doing anything for my hair. The Anti-Frizz serum, however, consistently helps to give me smooth ends, especially when rollersetting something that I've only ever experienced with heavier serums that tend to weigh your hair down.
As far as the down and dirty specs, rice bran and safflower oils make this serum an excellent way to add ceramides into your hair diet (check out this post at on some of the benefits of ceramides in your hair regimen). Additinally, the protein in the serum will help to keep your strands silky and strong.

Final Word: Overall, I really like the Anti-Frizz serum. Due to the ceramide content, I have seen a major change in the health and feel of my hair while using the serum in conjunction with other products in the KeraPro line. I would definitely re-purchase this serum when I run out! 5/5 stars!!
