Setback pictures + brief update

Whew! Long time no see, right? Too see where I've been and what I've been up to outside of hair-land, check out my personal blog (www.shikachristian.com) and, as always, I tweet all day long (@shiksarama & @hairiamworld).

Ok. Now the stuff you came to read! =)

I took pictures to assess the damage of my alleged setback...well "alleged" no more! I will most definitely be cutting at least 4" in December (more on what I'll be doing between now and then later!).

Here's the receipts (sorry for the crappy phone pictures... as always lol):

You can clearly see, in these pictures, the sparseness of the rear, right portion of my hair... what looks like just an uneven hemline when all my hair is down reveals a good 5"+ of breakage on the bottom layer of my hair... sigh.

Now. I've already had my dramatic "WHYY LAWWDDD?! WHHHYYYY???" moment... and even though pictures of my "old" hair still make me sad, the most important thing is preparing my hair for a come-back! So... in a later post (when? idk...) I will lay out my plan of attack!

Until then, remain blessed and I wish you many great hair days!

    1. Yes, I wear the ouchless bands from Goody... I'm not sure that those are the cause of my breakage though, since I've been wearing them fo'evaaaa....

  5. I missed you!
And I totally feel you on the cut. Sometimes you just gotta hack it off to get it back how you want.

  7. Were you able to assess what happened to your hair? I also had a set back and dove right into protective styling mode. All that hard work and a set back? But hey, you live and you learn. Can't wait to see your progress.

  8. :( I am so sorry for your setback! We will be setback twins. The same thing happened to me last December and this coming December I will do a nice little chop (even though it's killing me!). I couldn't do it last year though. I know health is important, but it was only barely noticeable parts and I wasn't trying to go NL again. :( Not when I'm a little past APL. So while you couldn't notice it before, now that you can, I am gonna do a cut, and then mini trims until it's even. I am again sorry, but I know we will both claim our sexy MBL (or longer) hair! Much love!

  9. Just get an asymmetrical haircut and play it off like you wanted it and then gradually trim it back to even (reshape it)
