Quickie: Bra-Strap Length (Setback, damn you!)

Why do I continuously torture myself?

So, while taking down my braids to DC and wash my hair last weekend (ahem, excuse my rough hair!), I decided to do a mini-length check. To my utter dismay, my non-setback hair is scraping my bra-strap... I should be singing "Oh happy day!" but alas... it is not so happy since I will just have to cut back to APL-ish anyway. ='(

Here's the receipts:
Just ignore my hair's rough appearance!!
You can definitely see my excessive shrinkage (I am 27 weeks post... [more on that later]). But my fingers land directly on the top of my bra strap.

I guess I am happy that had I not neglected my hair all summer I would be touching BSL right now...

Gah!

Until next time,

Shika

  1. Imagine how great your ends will look when you make it back to BSL land (because you will make it) after your cut!

Being 27 weeks post is an accomplishment too!

    1. I know, I know... **bratty face**

And thanks! My NG is actually behaving... I think after a certain point it gives up it's shenanigans and just cooperates!

  2. I know exactly how you feel...I cut my ends because they looked thin to me. I lost some length, but I'm happy with how much better my ends look and feel. I know I can make it back to MBL for sure now! You will make it!!!

    1. You will make it back to MBL in no time! And healthy (shorter) ends feel much better than longer (unhealthy) ends.

  3. I am so with you! Why is it so hard to get into the BSL Club?!?? We'll get there. I have a few strands close to BSL now also. Your hair is always so gorgeous, so at least you'll continue to look good on the way.

  4. Poor hair, poor you, you're so close. Maybe just trim a little each month?

    1. That was a thought but I'd rather get rid of it all at once... that's why I'm in hid and grow mode until December when I will cut... I'm cutting to APL-ish (give or take an inch or so)

    2. I am so opposed to cutting, but okay...(sadface).

  5. Hi shika as much as you want the length, I will definitely say think about the health. A healthy hair is ten times better than an unhealthy length. Your hair will grow better when your ends are healthy cos it would nt be chipping in to the rest of the length ,plus you are doing all the right things you should be doing. Hang in there cos there are better days ahead... good luck
